TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – Gov. Ron DeSantis’ new press secretary, Bryan Griffin, said he will follow in the footsteps of former press secretary Christina Pushaw, who made her mark debunking false narratives and reports on social media.

Pushaw will move to the governor’s re-election campaign as the Director of Rapid Response. Press Secretary Bryan Griffin served as deputy press secretary for six months prior to succeeding Pushaw.

“It has been an honor to work with and learn from @ChristinaPushaw,” Griffin said. “I look forward to serving @GovRonDeSantis and the people if Florida in this new role. Like Christina did so well, I will ensure the governor’s message is amplified and that false narratives are debunked.”

Griffin has a Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and received a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University. He also received a Masters of Science in Management from the University of Florida Hough School of Business.

Griffin served as the National Field Director for the pro-Israel non-profit Maccabee Task Force led by Sheldon Adelson for about six years. The non-profit focuses on advocating for the support of Israel within the United States.

The new press secretary has a breadth of knowledge in foreign policy. Griffin developed and executed programming for the London Center for Policy Research regarding areas of critical American interest and strategic defense forecasting. He was an author of the Encyclopedia of Militant Islam, providing knowledge about the most active militant groups operating worldwide.

Griffin was the editor-in-chief of the Journal of International Affairs. From 2010 to 2013, he was also elected to the Alachua County Soil and Water Commission.

Jeremy Redfern, press secretary for the Florida Department of Health, is set to become the new deputy press secretary for DeSantis.

“It was an honor serving as the Press Secretary for the Florida Department of Health under Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo,” Redfern told Florida’s Voice. “I’m excited to make the move over to Governor DeSantis’ office to help get out his message and push back on media bias.”

This letter is to officially inform you that I am resigning from my position as Press Secretary for the Executive Office of the Governor, effective August 12, 2022,” she wrote in a letter.

“I have been proud to have been part of a team that has helped Floridians through historic challenges, and continues to deliver results that make life better for the people of our great state,” she continued.
