TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – Moms for Liberty said the group stands with Gov. Ron DeSantis to make sure schools will not be required to implement LGBTQ policies in order to receive federal funding for low-income lunches.
The Biden Administration is reportedly threatening to restrict federal funding for school lunches if schools do not implement policies, like allowing biological boys to use girls’ restrooms.
“We have girls in bathrooms that are concerned about their safety and they feel very uncomfortable having boys in these private female spaces,” said Moms for Liberty Founder Tiffany Justice.
“And so parents really are asking, Is this what’s best for our girls in school? And it certainly does not seem like it is in the best interest of women.”
The group is also concerned about the Biden Administration’s proposed Title IX changes to include discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
“In essence, erasing biological sex in place of gender identity,” Justice said. “The erasure of biological sex, meaning that it doesn’t matter if you’re a boy or girl, if you feel like a girl or a boy that day, then you can be able to participate in school as a girl.”
President Biden proposed amendments to reinstate protections that were rolled back by President Trump.
“Over the last fifty years, our nation has made monumental progress in advancing equity and equality for all students, including by narrowing gender gaps in sports, expanding opportunities in science and technology fields, and protecting students from sex discrimination, including sex-based harassment and sexual violence,” Biden said in White House statement.
