New Poll Finds Florida Hispanics Swinging for DeSantis Over Crist

TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – A new poll released by the Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy shows Hispanic registered voters plan to support Gov. Ron DeSantis over Democrat gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist- 51% to 44% statewide.

This poll was conducted from Oct. 17 through Oct. 20.

When participants were asked if they approve or disapprove of DeSantis’ job performance as governor, 56% responded approve and 41% said they disapprove.

In regards to DeSantis’ immigrant flights to Martha’s Vineyard, results show 50% approve and 43% disapprove.

DeSantis previously sent two planes of illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard after the Florida legislature approved $12 million to help transport illegal immigrants from the state.

Numbers show an overwhelming amount of participants approve of the Governor’s response to Hurricane Ian.

73% of participants approve of his performance handling the state’s recovery and only 17% disapproved.

Gov. DeSantis declared a state of emergency five days prior to Hurricane Ian making landfall, pre-staged 42,000 lineman across the state in preparation for power outages, held up to four press conferences per day to provide the public constant updates, expedited bridge repairs, among other notable recovery efforts which have been recognized by both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

Debate Night – October 24

With the Nov 8. election just over two weeks away, DeSantis and Crist will face off Monday night in their first and only debate on the main stage.

The debate on WPEC-TV was originally scheduled for Wednesday, which is about two weeks after Hurricane Ian pummeled Southwest Florida.

WPEC-TV’s website said the debate will be presented live at 7 p.m. and held at the Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce Oct. 24.
