ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. (FLV) – Chief of Regulatory Compliance for JAXPORT and Vice Chair of the Florida Freight Advisory Committee Nick Primrose announced his candidacy for the House District 18 seat.

“I’m excited to officially announce my candidacy to represent St. Johns County, making sure we protect our law enforcement, the environment, and our children from woke ideology. As the fastest growing state, we must keep moving forward for prosperity and freedom for all,” Primrose said.

Primrose formerly served as Gov. Ron DeSantis’ and Sen. Rick Scott’s, R-FL, Attorney and was Elections Commission Chair. He is running for Florida State House District 18 in his home district of St. Johns County.

“While serving the governor, I saw first-hand how the legislature can conservatively and productively partner with him to support Florida’s police and public safety professionals, preserve the cherished environmental attractions that are home to distinct wildlife, enhance our infrastructure to support our rapidly growing population, and protect our education system from the woke ideology of the radical left that has nothing to do with learning gains for kids,” Primrose said.

“I look forward to meeting the voters in my district and talking more about all these important issues in the months ahead.”

Primrose is a ‘lifelong conservative’ who has committed his professional life to public service. As a former deputy general counsel to DeSantis and Scott, he provided legal advice and counsel regarding economic prosperity, transportation, election security, and judicial appointments.

While serving DeSantis, he also served as the general counsel for the Division of Emergency Management, providing legal advice during hurricane and natural disaster response, as well as navigating executive actions related to COVID-19.

In August 2021, Primrose was appointed as the chair of the Florida Elections Commission by DeSantis, charged with investigating violations of the election code and campaign finance laws.
