CLEARWATER, Fla. – The sheriffs of Pinellas and Pasco County announced Thursday their support for Adam Ross for tax collector of Pinellas County

Ross, who lives in Clearwater with his wife, won the seat for chairman of the Republican Party of Pinellas County in 2022. He is also the executive director for the local state attorney’s office, serving there since 2018.

“Adam Ross is a strong supporter of law enforcement,” said Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri. “As a prosecutor and executive director of the State Attorney’s Office, Adam worked closely with law enforcement to develop new technologies to make the administration of criminal justice more efficient and effective.”

The sheriff said Ross will bring “excellence” to the Pinellas tax collector’s office.

“I have been privileged to personally work side by side with Adam Ross to ensure public safety,” said Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco. “Adam is willing to listen to ideas, incorporate them in the process, and has shown success in all that he does.”

Nocco said Ross, as tax collector, will give locals “outstanding customer service and integrity.”

“I am proud to endorse Adam Ross for Pinellas Tax Collector and am confident he will exceed the already high expectations bestowed on him,” he said.

“It’s a great honor to have the endorsements of both Sheriff Gualtieri and Nocco,” Ross said in response to the law enforcement endorsements. “I work closely with both their offices as executive director of the State Attorney’s office, and I know how hard they work to promote public safety and uphold the rule of law in the communities we love. I am honored to have their support.”

In a press release, Ross’ campaign touted his creation of a new case management system for the state attorney’s office that bolstered efficiency and helped save money.

His campaign pointed to his “experience in budget management, personnel management, and public service.”

Per his website, Ross also has the endorsement of current Pinellas County Tax Collector Charles Thomas.
