DURHAM (FLV) – A new poll showed New Hampshire Republicans favored Gov. Ron DeSantis over former President Donald Trump.

The Granite State Poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center showed 47% would vote for DeSantis and 46% would vote for Biden. The margin of error is 3.2% with 939 people being surveyed.

In a Joe Biden-Donald Trump matchup, Biden had 50% of the vote and Trump with 43%.

In July of 2021, New Hampshire Republicans said their first choice for the GOP presidential candidate was Donald Trump with 47% of the vote. DeSantis had 19% of the vote. In October of 2021, Trump’s favorability went down to 43%.

In June of 2022, DeSantis took the lead with 39% compared to Trump with 37%.

The Governor was asked about a 2024 presidential run Thursday.

“I’m trying to think like, what is this obsession with 24? Like we don’t even have the 22 election,” DeSantis said. “I think it’s because the media knows that the Democrats are going to get hammered in 2022. They don’t want to talk about it.”

The Governor said he is focused on running for reelection in 2022. On top of that, the Governor touted the state’s focus on the budget, education initiatives, and environment.
