LAKE MARY, Fla. – Florida Republican Rep. Cory Mills said on Tuesday that he and his team had successfully evacuated Americans from Haiti as the country faces tumult and chaos.

Mills said Americans were rescued at the “Have Faith Orphanage” Monday night.

“This recent mission reiterates a disturbing reality that under President Biden’s leadership American lives are continually jeopardized,” Mills said. “I have conducted rescue/evacs of Americans multiple times when Joe Biden has deserted them. There’s a clear pattern of abandonment!”

The congressman pointed to the past two major instances when he helped save Americans from danger abroad, most recently being from Israel, and in 2021, from Afghanistan.

“Americans at home and abroad are more unsafe under Biden than ever before,” Mills said. “We need President Trump back in the White House as the world can’t afford 4 more years of Biden’s failed administration.”

Mills had helped rescue dozens of Americans from Israel in October 2023.

“If Biden and his administration won’t prioritize American lives then I will step up and do his job for him,” Mills said at the time. “77 Americans in 2 days safe and no longer trapped in Israel while Biden thinks of a plan […] This never happened under President Trump!”

The prime minister of Haiti had recently resigned and the country is facing massive unrest and gang attacks.

American forces had to be deployed to guard the U.S. Embassy in Haiti.
