NEW YORK (FCV) – Friday, New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) is set to be “in Florida.” Her office would not specify a reason publicly.

It was unclear what Hochul is doing in Florida, but WNYC reporter John Campbell reports that she is attending a Democrat Governors Association (DGA) event in the red Sunshine State.

Hochul’s appearance would not be the first of prominent Democrat leaders visiting the state run by Governor Ron DeSantis (R), who has been vehemently criticized since his election for how he operates the state – prioritizing freedom over government rule.

The DGA is a group of all Democrat governors in the United States. Their purpose is to give institutional support for Democrat gubernatorial candidates, both for election and re-election. It counters the Republican Governors Association.

According to 2022 event listings, the DGA has no publicly listed Florida events. This would mean that the reported Florida event from the DGA is being kept mostly away from the public eye.

Hochul has been a proponent of tyrannical health mandates like mask requirements.

It is unclear which other Democrat governors, if any, are joining Hochul in Florida.
