Reporter Wrongfully Claims that DeSantis Staff Did Not Take Press Questions After Hearing

TALLAHASSEE (FCV) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) officials attended a hearing Wednesday – according to sources, before the hearing finished, some officials walked out and were followed by a member of the press berating them with questions.

Reporter Kirby Wilson incorrectly posted on twitter that “DeSantis’ top agency officials are hustled out of legislative meetings by aides while reporters try to ask them questions.”

Jeremy Redfern, Press Secretary for the Florida Department of Health, responded to Kirby Wilson’s tweet and called him out for lying. 

“Our Communications Director stayed behind and answered your questions.”

DeSantis and his agency officials have been notorious for strongly answering questions regarding COVID-19 from both sides of the political spectrum, with both Redfern and his Press Secretary, Christina Pushaw, being actively engaged with the press.
