TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – Monday, Sep. 26, 2022 marks the anniversary of Ron and Casey DeSantis.

The Florida governor wished his wife a happy anniversary on Twitter Monday morning: “Happy Anniversary to my beautiful wife, @CaseyDeSantis! I am so thankful for our marriage every day, you are an amazing wife, mother and friend. Love you so much!”

The two got married in 2010, 12 years ago. The couple has three children.

Throughout the DeSantis Administration, both have been prominent advocates for family and parenting, granting a slew of tax breaks for families, workers, promoting parental choice, quality education, and guarding against sexual indoctrination.

“We have a fatherhood crisis in our nation,” he said. “Here in Florida, we are investing in programs to support fathers and families.”

A major piece of legislation signed by DeSantis was HB 7065, “Child Welfare,” which supports fathers in actively participating in their children’s lives.

“To any dad out there who may not be engaged, you know, we wanna be able to support – we’ve got programs, we’ve got community groups and nonprofits that wanna be there to help. But you gotta be willing to do the right thing and be present in your child’s life,” he went on.

Casey DeSantis beat breast cancer earlier this year, a major hardship the family faced.

“Over the past year, my family has felt the power of prayer in our own lives,” DeSantis expressed. “The outpouring of support for my wife and our First Lady Casey DeSantis from across Florida and across the world helped us get through a very trying time.”

“And today, we can say those prayers were answered because the first lady is cancer free and just last week received her final radiation treatment,” he explained. “Thank you to the prayer warriors and the faithful across Florida and may we all pray that religious liberty will forever abide in our midst. So long as I’m Governor, I can assure you that it will.”
