TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – SBA Pro-Life America Candidate Fund endorsed Gov. Ron DeSantis Tuesday as he seeks re-election.

“We’re proud to endorse Governor Ron DeSantis, a fearless advocate for the unborn and their mothers and for the will of Floridians,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser.

“Gov. DeSantis is right: science shows unborn children are human like us and feel excruciating pain in brutal late abortions.”

Ron DeSantis Signs 15 Week Abortion Ban

Governor DeSantis signed legislation this year to ban abortions after 15 weeks in Florida.

“This is a time where these babies have beating hearts. They can move. They can taste,” DeSantis said when he signed the bill. “We are here today to protect life. We are here today to defend those who can’t defend themselves.”

SBA Pro-Life America and Women Speak Out PAC field team has boots on the ground in Florida. They have visited more than 380,000 homes of voters across the state.

“Lives are being saved today thanks to his strong leadership, and he continues to stand up for the people’s right to enact their values in the law – not have abortion on demand until birth imposed on them by unelected judges. We are grateful for his unflinching commitment to moms and babies and look forward to his re-election victory,” Dannenfelser said.

Even though the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Florida’s 15-week abortion ban faces challenges in the state court system. The law was temporarily blocked last month but was then reinstated after the DeSantis Administration appealed.

Governor DeSantis signed legislation in April which aims to encourage more fatherhood involvement in Florida. The new law will include funding for education programs, mentorship programs, and one-on-one support for responsible and involved fatherhood.

“Incredibly, there are those who diminish the importance of fatherhood and the nuclear family – we will not let that happen in our state. I am proud to say we are doing everything we can to support involved fatherhood in Florida,” DeSantis said.

The Governor signed the “Parental Rights in Education” law which provides parents more access to their child’s education. It also prohibits educators from teaching K-3 students about gender ideology.
