WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sens. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, filed legislation in the U.S. Senate to empower workers around the country, while protecting them from “Big Labor” and bureaucratic meddling.”

The Teamwork for Employees And Managers Act, also known as the TEAM Act, was originally filed by Rubio in 2022, but was re-introduced after it had failed to make it out of committee assignments.

According to a press release by Rubio’s office, the TEAM Act’s main goal is to give employees voluntary opportunities to negotiate with employers on their own terms and without “fear of legal action or bureaucratic meddling.” Additionally, the bill would give workers a presence on major corporate boards as non-voting members.

Specifically, the bill seeks to target workers who have been “dissuaded by the failures of Big Labor”

“Our collective bargaining system is supposed to ensure good worker conditions and compensation,” Rubio said in the press release. “Instead, it is putting millions of workers between a rock and a hard place: having to choose between no representation and woke union leadership.”

“Employees deserve another option. This legislation would give workers that option, improve employee-management relations, and help deliver good workplaces,” he added.
