WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller Joseph Abruzzo announced an additional $25 million investment in Israeli bonds.

“Israel is our greatest ally, and they need our full support in the aftermath of this horrific terrorist attack that slaughtered hundreds civilians – including 11 Americans thus far,” Abruzzo said.

“I am proud to show solidarity with the people of Israel and make Palm Beach County the first county in the nation to increase its investment in Israel bonds following their declaration of war against Hamas,” he continued.

Money from the investment is expected to reach Israel’s government Friday.

Abruzzo’s commitment comes as the Jewish state continues its fight against Hamas. The terrorist group Hamas has inflicted casualties on Israel since its deadly attack against the nation last weekend.

American Jews are heavily represented in South Florida, with as much as 650,000 living in the region.

The area has a massive concentration of Jews and is among the top locations that are home to Jewish people outside of Israel.

Along with Palm Beach County, Broward County has considered a similar investment.

“Just hung up with our @browardinfo finance director confirmed that Broward is also in the market to purchase the #Israelibonds. Broward has made Israeli bonds part of our portfolio through commission action years ago,” Broward County Commissioner Michael Udine said.

Representing parts of Coral Springs, North Lauderdale, Parkland, Sunrise and Tamarac, Udine has vehemently expressed his support for Israel. He was also outspoken over the Broward County school district labeling Hamas as militants instead of terrorists.

Gov. Ron DeSantis also recently expressed his support to Israel following Hamas’ attack. According to a report, thousands have been killed, including at least 27 Americans, since the war began.

“I stand with Israel. America must stand with Israel,” DeSantis said.
