St. Augustine Community Ranked Third Fastest Growing Master Planned Community in the U.S.
ST. AUGUSTINE (FLV) – The Hutson Companies’ SilverLeaf in St. Augustine is the third fastest growing Master Planned Community in the U.S., according to a Real Estate consulting company that surveys Master Planned Communities across the nation.
Hutson Companies’ SilverLeaf community in St. Johns County was ranked third on the list with 1,034 sales in 2022, an 11 percent increase over 2021.
“Selling over 1,000 homes in just under our third year of breaking ground has been truly remarkable,” said the Hutson Company Vice President Travis Hutson. “We want to thank our builders, contractors, sub-contractors and residents for making this all possible.”
SilverLeaf is a master-planned community with no CDD fees, neighborhood parks and award-winning amenities. SilverLeaf will consist of several neighborhoods in a wide range of sizes, price points and styles for both individuals and families. It will be one of the largest community developments in northeast Florida, according to their website.
“I want to congratulate SilverLeaf on all its successes,” St. Johns County Commissioner Sarah Arnold said.
“This developer pledged all the infrastructure like roads and sidewalks, as well as dedicated the land for parks and schools all up front before they would agree to build a single house. This kind of commitment is what St. Johns county needs when we discuss what smart development looks like.”
Commissioner Christian Whitehurst applauded SilverLeaf for setting a “new standard” for development in St. Johns County.
“By building infrastructure up front it ensures that the county can accommodate the new residents who are moving in to their homes,” Whitehurst said. “We’ve seen other developments following in the footsteps of SilverLeaf’s successful model for growth.”
The state of Florida represented about 46 percent of sales among the ranked communities with 18 Florida communities on the list of 50.
The Villages active-adult community is ranked number one top-selling community in the U.S. with 3,923 sales in 2022, a two percent decline from 2021.
Sarasota’s Lakewood Ranch community landed number two on the list and is the top-selling multi-generational community in the country. The community had 1,846 sales in 2022, a 28 percent decrease over 2021.
Other Florida communities on the list include Babcock Ranch in Punta Gorda, Viera in Melbourne, Wellen Park in Venice, Epperson in Wesley Chapel, Latitude Margaritaville in Panama City Beach, Latitude Margaritaville in Daytona Beach, Ave Maria, Westlake in West Palm Beach, Riverland in Port St. Lucie, Tradition in St. Lucie, Lake Nona in Orlando, Nocatee in Ponte Vedra, On Top of the World in Ocala, Mirada in San Antonio and South Shore Bay in Wimauma.
