FORT PIERCE, Fla. (FLV) – Gov. Ron DeSantis slammed President Joe Biden for displaying a massive “Progress Pride Flag” in the middle of American flags at the White House.

“They had this transgender flag as the precedent over the American flag. That’s wrong,” DeSantis said. “That is not how you display the American flag.”

Following Florida’s Voice’s question, the governor commented on the viral video of trans activist Rose Montoya going topless at Biden’s Pride Month event at the White House.

“I think when you have the inappropriate conduct at the White House with like these transgender flashing people nude and all this stuff, that’s just totally, totally inappropriate,” he said.

The White House released a statement Tuesday calling the behavior “inappropriate” and “disrespectful” for a White House event.

DeSantis commented on the White House acknowledging it was not appropriate.

“I would ask them, if it is inappropriate to do that at the White House, which I certainly think it is, why do you want to have that curriculum jammed into a second graders classroom?” DeSantis questioned at the press conference.

The White House had said the activist’s actions were not “reflective of the event we hosted to celebrate LGBTQI+ families or the other hundreds of guests who were in attendance.”

The trans activist posted a follow up video after the event and said that going topless is “legal” in Washington, D.C.

“My trans masculine friends were showing off their top surgery scars and living in joy, and I wanted to join them. And because it is perfectly within the law of Washington, D.C. I decided to join them and cover my nipples just to play it safe,” Montoya said.

On Saturday, Biden tweeted an image of a pride flag with the caption, “Today, the People’s House – your house – sends a clear message to the country and to the world. America is a nation of pride.”
