FCV Rankings 16-9

Florida’s Conservative Voice Presents the Top 5 Most Liberal Biased Florida Reporters of the Week: Every week, FCV will rank the worst reporters covering Florida politics. Our team, and readers, have noticed a stark uptick of fake news “journalists” that are consistently lying or misleading the public on Florida affairs in politics, ranging from Governor Ron Desantis to COVID-19. In an effort to promote more journalistic integrity, these individuals will be cited for their attempts to mislead the public.

5: Mary Ellen Klas

December 9, Klas penned an article in the Tampa Bay Times to report on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ (R) Freedom First Budget proposal, which included bonuses for teachers and anti-illegal immigration funds. To Klas’ credit, she opens the story by reporting the facts of the budget.

Most of the story, though, is an attempt to discredit DeSantis’ economic and post-COVID success by giving credit to the Biden Administration. She does this by citing left-wing criticism of DeSantis, like Florida Rep. Anna Eskamani (D), on each of his major proposals.

4: Michael Daly

Daly wrote a Daily Beast article claiming that DeSantis “Has It Backwards About COVID,” where he uses the death of an elderly woman in Ocala, FL in the hospital DeSantis utilized for a monoclonal antibody treatment press conference to argue that DeSantis was personally responsible for her death by reopening schools.

Daly bashes the use of the effective promotion of monoclonal antibody use, which has been medically proven to be effective in treating, and now preventing, severe COVID-19 disease, and instead argued for mask wearing, which DeSantis refused to mandate.

3: Brooke Leigh Howard

December 15, Howard wrote a Daily Beast article which claims to cite “education and human rights experts” in an attempt to bash DeSantis for proposing the Stop W.O.K.E. Act.

In the article, though, Howard simply cites Cindy Banyai (D), a left-wing Florida Gulf Coast University professor and critical race theory supporter, who lost in a landslide to Florida Rep. Byron Donalds (R) in 2020.

Great method to get an unbiased, objective perspective: reach out to the most left-wing politician in the area.

2: Gary Fineout

In a piece out of Politico, Fineout hilariously attempted to link DeSantis to “QAnon,” by calling out the Miami chapter of Moms for Liberty, who DeSantis invited to speak about his efforts to outlaw critical race theory in schools.

Funnily enough, Fineout does not cite evidence that the mother is affiliated or subscribed to “QAnon;” rather, he uses her anti-BLM and anti-child smuggling comments as evidence she has been radicalized by the faux right-wing cult.

1: Peter Schorsch

Schorsch is the owner of the ‘objective’ news reporting site for Florida, Florida Politics. Recently exposed to be a “Charlie Crist fan” and Democratic donor, Schorsch Tweeted on Sunday suggesting his (unsurprisingly) support for Andrew Gillum (D)  in 2018:

Yes, Peter, just imagine if your candidate spent more money to elect Democrat Bill Nelson. Objective reporting at its finest.
