Tropical Depression Three forms in Atlantic, Florida authorities urge alertness
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Florida authorities are urging residents to keep an eye on weather alerts as a new tropical depression has formed in the Atlantic.
Tropical Depression Three formed Monday morning, as reported by the National Hurricane Center.
The center said there is “larger than usual uncertainty” in the storm’s current track, but warned those in the Lesser Antilles, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands to have their hurricane plan in place.

Matt Devitt, chief meteorologist at WINK News, said the system could potentially become Hurricane Bret later this week, but noted it’s still early.
He said models are “split” showing the storm either going north into the Atlantic or heading west into the central Caribbean.
“Worth noting that the stronger it gets, it would be more likely to turn north. The eastern Caribbean should be monitoring the progress of this storm. Too early to know where it will ultimately go long term,” he said.
