WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Former President Donald Trump’s campaign advisors released a statement on why the Republican National Committee should cancel all future primary debates for the 2024 presidential election.

Senior advisors Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita called for the committee to “immediately” cancel the upcoming debate in Miami

They emphasized the need for the party to “refocus its manpower and money” on preventing Democrats’ efforts to “steal” the upcoming election.

“Anything less, along with other reasons not to cancel, are an admission to the grassroots that their concerns about voter integrity are not taken seriously and national Republicans are more concerned about helping Joe Biden than ensuring a safe and secure election,” the statement read.

The comments come after a push by Trump to get other candidates to drop out of the race.

“DeSanctimonious is crashing. Perhaps the party should come together: people should drop out of the race,” Trump recently suggested. “We unify, and we beat Biden and the Democrats. They should be easy to beat because our country has never been in worse condition than it is right now.”

Trump has refused to debate his primary opponents, citing the polling numbers showing him with significant leads above Gov. Ron DeSantis and the rest of the field.

The former president instead participated in a sit-down interview with Tucker Carlson during the first debate and hosted a rally with Michigan autoworkers during the second.

“I’m leading by 50 and 60 points,” Trump said during the interview. “And you know, some of them are at one and zero and two, and I’m saying, do I sit there for an hour or two hours, whatever it’s going to be and get harassed by people that shouldn’t even be running for president, should I be doing that?”

Trump has also highlighted that he refuses to sign the pledge that the GOP is requiring candidates take before participating in the debates.

The pledge demands that all candidates must support the eventual nominee of the party.

DeSantis argued that Trump owes it to the voters to partake in the primary debate.

”You have to earn this nomination, and you have to show up,” DeSantis said. “You have to debate! You’ve got to be willing [to] answer questions, you’ve got to be willing to defend your record, and you’ve got to articulate a vision.”

Former New Jersey Gov. and 2024 Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie slammed Trump, with the nickname “Donald Duck,” for his campaign demanding an end to the GOP primary debates.

“Let’s get a couple of things straight,” Christie said. “To date, Donald Duck has spent in excess of $50 million in donations from working-class Americans to cover his legal bills and allowed the RNC to spend more than $2 million of donor money to do the same. He’s so cheap and selfish he’d rather spend your money than his own.”
