LANSING, Mich. (FLV) – Every member of the Michigan GOP congressional delegation endorsed former President Donald Trump in his 2024 presidential campaign.

In a joint-statement to Fox News, Reps. Jack Bergman, Bill Huizenga, John James, Lisa McClain, John Moolenaar and Tim Walberg expressed their support for Trump and his election efforts.

“We’re proud to announce our full endorsement of President Donald J. Trump,” the lawmakers said.

“Under the Trump presidency, America was prosperous, the economy was strong, the world was a safer place, and Michiganders were better off.”

“President Trump has proven he has the ability to deliver results on Day One and also the ability to win in key battleground states like Michigan, being the only Republican to win a Presidential race here since 1988,” the statement said.

James added that President Joe Biden has “wrecked our economy, let our position as the sole world power slip, and opened our borders.“

He mentioned that Biden’s policies have been “detrimental” to Michigan’s middle-class.

“Under President Trump on the other hand, inflation was at 2%, the American family was strengthened through the child tax credit and other pro-family policies, and our communities were more secure,” he stated.

“In 2024, we need to give hope to Americans who feel like their government is failing them,” James finished.

Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., applauded the delegation’s decision to come together and endorse the former president, stating that Trump’s White House ambitions become “much easier” with a win in Michigan.

“I’m thrilled to see my friends from Michigan stand behind President Trump, the tried and true America First and American manufacturing president,” he said.

Trump narrowly won the state in 2016 with 47.6% of the vote against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton who collected 47.3%. In 2020, Biden flipped the state blue.
