ADEL, Iowa – Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird endorsed former President Donald Trump for president in 2024.

“Here in Iowa, we’ve got things pretty good,” she said. “But, the rest of our country – it sure is another story.”

“The border is wide open, our law enforcement is disrespected … the Biden administration seems to be against farmers,” she said. “And, terrorists are attacking Israel. Now, that never would have happened if Donald Trump was president.”

“We need a new president in the White House,” she continued. “He will secure our border. He will fight the terrorists. He will fix the economy. He will stand up for agriculture. And he will uphold our constitution and our way of life.”

The Iowa attorney general made the announcement at a Trump rally in Iowa.

There, Trump pitched to Iowan attendees his foreign policy record in the midst of war breaking out between Israel and Hamas. He recently reiterated that the conflict wouldn’t have broken out had he been president, along with the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Trump also touted priorly low gas and oil prices.

Iowa is the first state that will send voters to make their voice heard in the 2024 GOP primary. The Iowa caucus for Republicans will take place on Jan. 15, 2024.

Gov. Ron DeSantis has also focused on Iowa. DeSantis’ campaign recently announced that he has visited 80 of Iowa’s 99 counties.

Never Back Down, a super PAC supporting DeSantis, announced Monday that DeSantis now has the endorsement of 26 Iowa sheriffs.
