Trump plans long slate of Iowa events ahead of Jan. 15 caucus

DES MOINES, Iowa – Former President Donald Trump has eight planned Iowa events as of Tuesday ahead of the state’s Jan. 15 GOP presidential caucus.

On top of those, there are four additional “Team Trump” “MAGA” events in Iowa with other figures like North Dakota Gov. Kristie Noem, Eric Trump and Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene.

Per his campaign, a slate of rallies will take place this weekend starting Friday, Jan. 5 in Sioux Center and Mason City, at 4 and 7:30 p.m. CT.

Saturday, Trump will host rallies in Newton and Clinton at 1 and 4 p.m. CT.

The following weekend on Jan. 13, Trump will host rallies in Atlantic and Sioux City at 2 and 6 p.m. CT.

Finally, the day before the caucus, Trump is set to host rallies in Indianola and Cherokee on Jan. 14 at 12 and 4 p.m. CT.

Nikki Haley ties Ron DeSantis in national primary polling, metric finds

In Iowa, Trump has a massive lead over Gov. Ron DeSantis and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, a polling average has found.

Trump leads by over 32 points with 51.3% support there.

Then, the New Hampshire primary takes place Jan. 23. Haley clocks around 24.8% support in New Hampshire; Trump leads by over 21 points with 46.3% support. In New Hampshire, DeSantis is fourth at 9.5%, behind former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s 10.5%.

After New Hampshire, the South Carolina primary occurs Feb. 3, Nevada on Feb. 8, South Carolina on Feb. 24, and then Michigan, Idaho, Missouri, Washington, D.C. and North Dakota.

Super Tuesday takes place March 5, where the largest amount of delegates for the GOP nomination can be won on a single night.

Florida’s primary will occur on March 19.

While there is set to be a debate in Iowa hosted by CNN on Jan. 10, agreed to by DeSantis and Haley, Trump has not attended any of the prior GOP debates.
