BEDMINSTER, N.J. – Former President Donald Trump promised to “support” American families who decided to homeschool their children, a habit increasingly prevalent since schools closed down during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Since the China Virus, America has seen an estimated 30 PERCENT increase in homeschool enrollment,” Trump said. “When I am reelected, I will do everything I can to support parents who make the courageous choice of homeschool.”

The former president pointed to tax cuts passed under his administration, which permitted families to use the 529 Education Savings Account to spend a maximum of $10,000 per year tax-free on tuition for K-12 chooling.

“This was a tremendous win for School Choice — very important, school choice, remember that term —and yet, that benefit did not apply to homeschoolers,” he said.

Trump promised to bring that benefit to homeschooling families, if he’s elected president in 2024.

“I will also work to ensure that every homeschool family is entitled to full access to the benefits available to non-homeschooled students—including participating in athletic programs, clubs, after school activities, educational trips, and more,” he announced.

“To every homeschool family, I will be your champion,” he continued.

“Do not vote Democrat. They are looking to destroy you if you don’t mind my saying that. Joe Biden can’t put two sentences together and yet he is looking to destroy you,” Trump concluded. “Vote for Honest Donald.”

Trump’s announcement is part of his “Agenda47” 2024 campaign platform.

Recently, Trump has announced other policy proposals and platforms, such as outlining “ten principles for great schools leading to great jobs” and “protecting students from the radical left and Marxist maniacs infecting educational institutions.”

Vying to compete against President Joe Biden again in 2024, Trump this week hit an all-time high in general election polling.
