PALM BEACH (FLV) – Former President Donald Trump said in a Fox News interview Monday he will do what he can to “help the country” after the FBI raided his Mara-Lago home, leading to uproar from people.

The FBI’s unprecedented raid led to outrage from people across the country who have called the move politically motivated.

“People are so angry at what is taking place,” Trump told Fox News. “Whatever we can do to help — because the temperature has to be brought down in the country. If it isn’t, terrible things are going to happen.”

At the same time, Trump said Americans “are not going to stand for another scam.”

The Department of Homeland Security and Federal bureau of Investigation reportedly sent a bulletin to law enforcement agencies warning of increased threats. The FBI and DHS said they have seen an increase in “violent threats” against law enforcement since the search warrant was executed.

The outlet reports that Trump’s representatives reached out to the Department of Justice to offer help. The FBI says they seized classified records, which Trump is disputing, arguing they have been declassified.

“The country is in a very dangerous position. There is tremendous anger, like I’ve never seen before, over all of the scams, and this new one — years of scams and witch hunts, and now this,” Trump said.

Trump said his team “has not yet heard” from the Justice Department on whether they will accept his offer to help.

Trump said FBI agents told his team on Mar-a-Lago to turn off the camera and prohibited people from going through the rooms. Trump reportedly said the FBI could take anything they want and put anything they want in.

“There has never been a time like this where law enforcement has been used to break into the house of a former president of the United States, and there is tremendous anger in the country — at a level that has never been seen before, other than during very perilous times,” Trump said.

Fox News reports that the FBI took about 20 boxes of items from the premises including a set of documents with top secret/sensitive compartmented information.
