WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (FLV) – Former President Donald Trump told Sen. Rick Scott, R-FL, on TRUTH Social that there will be “no cuts” to Social Security and Medicare.

Trump reacted to the Club for Growth’s endorsement of Scott’s reelection bid for Senate in 2024.

“Bad news for Senator Rick Scott of Florida! Club for NO Growth just announced they are going to back him, and without my backing them, an Endorsement from them is the kiss of death,” he said.

“Be careful, Rick, and most importantly, fight for Social Security and Medicare. THERE WILL BE NO CUTS!”

The former president’s remarks on Medicare and Social Security also come after President Joe Biden riled up Republicans on the issue at his State of the Union Address, having claimed the GOP wants to cut the programs.

Biden then took to Tampa to give a speech promoting the social programs. He called out Scott, but said the Florida senator might have “changed his mind” or “seen the Lord.”

“He wanted to sunset it,” Biden said.

Biden had a message for anyone who wants to cut either of the social programs: “If that’s your dream, I’m your nightmare.”

The president said Medicare expansion should occur in Florida, and claimed it has not because of “politics.”

“It’s not like you’re the poorest state of the union,” Biden said.

According to his website, Scott released his “Rescue America” plan last year, outlining points that should be taken to “save this country.”

The point Biden is referring to number six, “Government Reform and Debt” which lists the following as a point: “All federal legislation sunsets in 5 years. If a law is worth keeping, Congress can pass it again.”

“I’ve never cut Social Security or Medicare or called for it and they know it. They are twisting words and being dishonest – as they do every time they speak,” Scott responded on Twitter.
