BEDMINSTER, N.J. (FLV) – At a speech in New Jersey after his Miami arraignment on 37 federal charges, former President Donald Trump vowed to obtain retribution if voters put him back in the White House.

“If the communists get away with this, it won’t stop with me,” he said. “They will not hesitate to ramp up their persecution of Christians, pro life activists, parents attending school board meetings and even future Republican candidates, which they do.”

“This day will go down in Infamy,” he said. “And Joe Biden will forever be remembered as not only the most corrupt president in the history of our country, but perhaps even more importantly, the president who [tried] to destroy American democracy, but they will fail and we will win bigger and better than ever.”

Trump continued, saying “the seal is now broken,” referring to the unprecedented event of a former president being criminally charged – notably on the behalf of an administration contrary to Trump’s political party, and one that will potentially be facing off against the former president in November 2024.

“This was an unwritten rule,” he said. “You just don’t, unless it’s really bad, but you just don’t.”

Trump pled not guilty to all charges in a federal probe relating to alleged mishandling of classified documents after he left the White House.

The case was brought by special counsel Jack Smith. The federal government alleged that Trump mishandled classified documents, which were brought to Mar-a-Lago, his residence in Florida. They also alleged he conspired to obstruct justice.

Speaking to supporters Tuesday night, Trump promised to appoint a “real” special prosecutor to target President Joe Biden.

“I will appoint a real special prosecutor to go after the most corrupt president in the history of the United States of America, Joe Biden, and the entire Biden crime family… name a special prosecutor, and all others involved with the destruction of our elections, our borders and our country itself,” Trump said.

“I will totally obliterate the deep state,” he continued. “We will obliterate the start and we know who they are. I know exactly who they are. They want to take away my freedom because I will never let them take away your freedom.”

Trump’s indictment drew near universal condemnation from a variety of Republican lawmakers and conservative commentators, ranging from House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., denounced the case on Tuesday, noting that Cuban and other migrants in Miami “know a thing or two about dangerous government overreach.”

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., also spoke out.

“The DOJ is seeking to jail FOR LIFE not just a former President but the leading opponent of the current President in the 2024 election,” he said. “The damage this is already inflicting on our country far outweighs the damage (if any) from what they allege in the indictment.”

Trump’s legal troubles have continued to mount in recent months. In April, Trump was indicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, a Democrat.
