TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Department of Law Enforcement announced the arrest of two suspects for election crimes occurring in 2020 and 2022.

Donna Brady, 66, of Ocala, Florida, was arrested and charged on two counts of casting more than one ballot in an election.

According to FDLE, Brady voted in both the 2020 state primary and general elections in Florida and New Jersey.

She reportedly voted in person in Marion County, Florida, and by mail in Sussex County, New Jersey.

Brady’s charges are third-degree felonies. She was arrested on March 13 and will be prosecuted by the Fifth Judicial Circuit’s state attorney.

The second suspect, Toye Anna La Rocca, 63, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, reportedly voted in 2022 while still serving a DUI conviction.

FDLE said that because La Rocca was still completing her sentence as a convicted felon, she was not eligible to vote yet.

La Rocca reportedly voted in person for the Okaloosa County primary election, and voted by mail for the general election.

She was arrested on March 8 and will be prosecuted by the First Judicial Circuit’s state attorney.

Last month, the DeSantis administration’s Election Crimes and Security Office, established in 2022, resulted in a conviction of a man for lying on his voter registration in 2020.

DeSantis’ office told Florida’s Voice the new arrests were related to investigations from before the establishment of the new office.

According to the verdict, Nathan Hart faced two counts of election crimes: Count I involved false voter registration information, and Count II involved voting illegally. He was convicted on the second.

The office has announced several other arrests since its inception.

“And so they did not go through any process. They did not get their rights restored and yet they went ahead and voted anyways,” DeSantis said last year. “That is against the law and now they’re going to pay the price for it.”

“We’re going to continue to make sure that our laws are rigorously enforced.”
