Volusia County GOP endorses Tom Leek, Cory Mills, Mike Waltz

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – The Volusia County Republican Executive Committee tossed their support behind Rep. Tom Leek, R-Ormond Beach, Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., and Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla.

Volusia County Republicans announced Leek’s endorsement Wednesday on social media. Leek is running for the state Senate District 7 seat.

The committee endorsed Mills in his re-election bid for Florida’s 7th Congressional District seat and Waltz in his re-election bid for Florida’s 6th Congressional District seat.

Leek has boasted endorsements from Gov. Ron DeSantis, Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., and other Republican state legislative leaders like Senate President-Designate Ben Albritton.

Both Mills and Waltz received endorsements from former President Donald Trump. 

Mills has also received a multitude of other endorsements from Republican legislative leaders, groups, and others.

Candidates up against Leek for the state Senate’s District 7 seat include Republican Gerry James and David Shoar, along with Democrat George Anthony Hill II.

The other qualifying candidates running against Mills, the incumbent candidate for the state’s 7th Congressional District, seat include Republicans Mike Johnson and Allek Pastrana, and Democrats Jennifer Adams and Tatiana Fernandez.

Qualifying candidates running for Florida’s 6th Congressional District seat against Waltz, the incumbent candidate, include write-in candidate Richard Paul Dembinsky, Republican John Grow, and Democrat James David Stockton III.
