Disney Says 2,000 Jobs Delayed to Florida Not Related to ‘Don’t Say Gay’ Activism

TALLAHASSEE (FLV) – The Walt Disney Company reportedly announced it delayed moving about 2,000 high-paying jobs to Orlando from California.
A Disney spokesperson told news outlets the date was pushed back from December of 2022 to 2026 to “give people more time” and accommodate the construction timeline for new offices.
However, outlets including Fox News, Yahoo Finance and the Orlando Sentinel posted headlines saying Disney delays moving 2,000 jobs to Florida “amid” the controversy with DeSantis over the Parental Rights in Education Act.
While the delay is occurring amid the clash, a Disney spokesperson said the relocation did not have to do with the DeSantis dispute.

The Orlando Sentinel elaborated within the first two paragraphs that the relocation was not related to the dispute. However, Fox News and Yahoo Finance waited until halfway through the story for clarification.
