TAMPA, Fla. – President Joe Biden and U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg are set to visit Florida in the upcoming week as polling continues to show former President Donald Trump winning the state.

Biden will reportedly visit Tampa on Tuesday, April 23, while Buttigieg will travel to Miami for a campaign rally on Friday.

The details of the president’s Tampa trip have not yet been disclosed.

Biden attended a fundraiser in Miami earlier this year, and toured Hurricane Idalia damage late last year.

Buttigieg is expected to be joined by Miami Gardens Mayor Rodney Harris, South Miami Mayor Javier Fernandez, North Bay Village Mayor Brent Latham and former Miami Shores Mayor Crystal Wagar.

Vice President Kamala Harris has also visited the state recently, traveling to Parkland to honor the families and victims involved in the Marjorie Stonemason Douglas High School shooting.

She used the time to advocate for gun control measures and commit to more regulations of firearms.

The visit, however, caused pushback, as a father of one of the victims fired back on social media, demanding that the vice president stop using his daughter for photo ops.

Trump currently leads Biden in the state by 8% according to the latest poll by Florida Atlantic University.

The former president also increases his lead when the polling shows a three-way race with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Additionally, the Republican Party of Florida has continued to increase their lead of registered voters since the 2020 elections. Currently, the state has nearly 900,000 more registered Republicans than Democrats.
