WASHINGTON, D.C. – The latest polling for October found a further tightening race between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

As of Thursday morning, Biden and Trump are tied in national support after Trump hit an all-time high level of support towards 46% in September.

For the past couple months, Trump’s lead over Biden peaked nationally at 1.5%. Over the spring, he led by as much as 2% on average.

So far this month, only two polls aggregated by RealClearPolitics hand Trump a lead. The rest give Biden a lead while one found a tie.

Starting in August, Trump’s national support spiked after additional indictments from 43% to nearly 46%, now back down to around 44%.

Despite Trump’s latest dip, he is seated nearly 7% better at this point during the presidential election season than he was at the same time for the 2020 cycle.

With that polling disadvantage, Trump lost the election narrowly with just a handful of close swing state margins.

For the Republican nomination, Trump nears an all-time high level of in-party support at 57.9%.

The aggregate found Trump’s lead over Gov. Ron DeSantis resting at around 45%.

DeSantis, at 13.4%, is trailed by former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who is nearing 8%. Haley is followed by businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, who has around 5.6% support.

The next GOP primary debate will take place in Miami on Nov. 8, hosted by NBC.
