FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Following the Florida Panthers’ Stanley Cup victory over the Edmonton Oilers Monday, the Humane Society of Broward County announced they will be offering 50% adoptions for cats and kittens in Broward County until the end of the week.

“We are so excited that the Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup! Here at the Humane Society of Broward County one of our community cat rooms is dedicated to them. To celebrate the victory, adoption fees for all felines are half price through Sunday, June 30,” Humane Society of Broward County VP of Marketing Cherie Wachter said to Florida’s Voice.

According to Wachter, people can save more than $60 by adopting kittens and $40 for cats six months and older. The pets also are spayed or neutered before going home.

Furthermore, adopted pets will be microchipped and have preliminary vaccinations, as well as a feline leukemia test. They also will receive 14-days of limited health care from VCA Animal Hospitals and a bag of Purina pet food.

The release noted the Humane Society of Broward County is a private, non-profit organization supported by “donations from people and companies who want to help us help the animals.”

The Humane Society of Broward County is located at 2070 Griffin Road in Fort Lauderdale. Adoption kennels are open daily at 11:00 a.m. and appointments are not necessary.
