MELBOURNE BEACH, Fla. – Florida Republican Rep. Bill Posey announced his endorsement of state Rep. Randy Fine, R-Palm Bay, on Monday, as Fine vies for a state Senate seat this November.

“I am especially pleased to endorse Representative Randy Fine in his campaign for the Florida Senate because of his interest, knowledge, and continuing support of Activity-Based Total Accountability,” Posey said.

“Taxpayers are best served by representatives with not only the willingness, but the demonstrated ability, to demand transparency and accountability of government resources like Randy Fine has,” he added.

Fine thanked Posey for the endorsement, highlighting their strong relationship over the years.

“I am deeply humbled by Congressman Posey’s endorsement,” Fine said. “Congressman Posey has been a friend and mentor since I first declared for office, and our community could have had no better conservative champion fighting for us in Congress.”

“I am ever mindful that Congressman Posey once held the Senate seat I am running for; I hope to be worthy of that conservative legacy,” he said.

Fine is running to represent District 19 in the upper chamber, which encompasses his current House seat.

Former President Donald Trump endorsed Fine earlier on, following the representative’s open support for him in the 2024 GOP presidential primary.

“Florida State Rep. Randy Fine is a MAGA Warrior who will stand up to anyone to advance the America First agenda!” Trump said. “One of our only elected Jewish Republicans, he stands with me for an America that brings Peace through Strength, and an Economy that works for our Nation’s families.”

“I need him in the Florida Senate, and he has my Complete and Total Endorsement!” the former president said.

Fine has also been endorsed by significant figures such as U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson and Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis.

District 19 is currently held by state Sen. Debbie Mayfield, R-Melbourne. Mayfield will be termed out of the seat at the end of 2024. She is running for State House District 32, and has been endorsed by Trump.

Fine currently faces two Republicans in the primary, and one Democrat has filed for the seat as well.

He expressed his confidence in winning the seat during an interview with Florida’s Voice. He explained how he had significantly more funding and resources that made it virtually impossible for the other challengers to compete.
