TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Rep. Randy Fine, R-Melbourne Beach, announced he had exceeded $1.5 million on hand between his state Senate campaign and his “Friends of Randy Fine” political committee Tuesday.

Fine has served in the Florida House since 2016. He is running for the District 19 seat in Brevard County, which is currently held by Sen. Debbie Mayfield, R-Melbourne, who cannot run due to term limits.

The lawmaker said he is “humbled by the overwhelming financial support” his campaign has received.

“With record support not only coming from Brevard but from all corners of the state, it is clear that everyone agrees that #ItsGoingToBeFine,” Fine said.

According to the Florida Department of State website, three other opponents have filed to run for the seat: Democrat Vance Ahrens, Republican Robyn Hattaway, and Republican Charles Chuck Sheridan.

Fine previously received endorsements from Brevard School Board’s conservative majority, Chairwoman Megan Wright and board members Matt Susin and Gene Trent.

Reps. Thad Altman, R-Indialantic, Chase Tramont, R-Port Orange, and Webster Barnaby, R-Deltona, have endorsed Fine.

He also received endorsements from Port Canaveral Commissioner Wayne Justice and former Commissioner Tom Weinberg, Former Republican Party of Florida Chairman, Sen. Joe Gruters, R-Sarasota, and former Senate President Mike Haridopolos.

The International Union of Police Associations and Florida Family Action have also given early endorsements.

Fine currently serves as the chairman of the House Health & Human Services Committee, where he oversees all aspects of health care and welfare reform in Florida.

He was chairman of the House PreK-12 Appropriations Subcommittee, where he sponsored school choice expansion. He was also chairman of the House Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee.

Fine also pushed forth a now-approved measure to end “mutilating and castrating children on the altar of fake gender science, namely outlawing multiple kinds of sex transition operations for children.

He additionally served as the chairman of the House Select Committee on Gaming.
