WASHINGTON, D.C. (FLV) – U.S. Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., has endorsed former President Donald Trump for president in 2024.

The representative pointed to the indictment of Trump from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

“I think that what’s happening in New York is a very unifying event. We need to stop the infighting and come together and unify,” Mills said. “And I think right now the person that we need to be unifying behind is President Trump.”

Mills was first elected to Congress in 2022, which was host to a red wave across the Sunshine State. He represents the Florida’s 7th Congressional District, located in Central Florida near Orlando.

After winning a heated and packed primary, Trump endorsed Mills for his seat.

He is a decorated U.S. Army combat veteran and recipient of the Bronze Star. He left Florida to serve his country first in uniform, and then to further serve the U.S. State Department and other government agencies in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

Mills was a Trump appointee to the Pentagon as a Department of Defense advisor and a foreign policy expert.

Other D.C. delegation members from Florida who endorsed Trump include Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz, Byron Donalds and Anna Paulina Luna.

“There is only one leader at this time in our nation’s history who can seize this moment and deliver what we need- to get us back on track, provide strength and resolve, and Make America Great Again,” Donalds said last week.

“That is why I’m honored to endorse President Donald J. Trump for president in 2024 and I ask my fellow Americans to join me.”
