Byron Donalds endorses Donald Trump for president

WASHINGTON, D.C. (FLV) – Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., endorsed Donald Trump for president in 2024.

“There is only one leader at this time in our nation’s history who can seize this moment and deliver what we need- to get us back on track, provide strength and resolve, and Make America Great Again,” Donalds said.

“That is why I’m honored to endorse President Donald J. Trump for president in 2024 and I ask my fellow Americans to join me.”

Donalds represents Florida’s 19th Congressional District, which includes Southwest Florida.

He has been very outspoken against the raid at Trump’s home at Mara-a-Lago, calling the raid “unconscionable” and “unprecedented.”

Following the announcement of Trump’s possible indictment in March over alleged “hush money,” the congressman slammed New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

“What Alvin Bragg is doing is the definition of a political prosecution,” Donalds said. “The DOJ, FEC, and Alvin Bragg himself previously said there was no there there—why the change now?”

Trump himself has previously backed Donalds in his re-election race in the 2022 midterms.

“He is doing a great job. Byron is strong on Education, a defender of the Second Amendment, fights to protect our border, believes that America should be Energy Independent, and is dedicated to Low Taxes and a Strong Economy,” Trump said in December of 2021.

At one point during the January vote for Speaker of the House in congress, Donalds picked up nearly 20 Republican votes. After several rounds of voting, U.S. Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-CA, was voted in as speaker.
