BALTIMORE, Md. – Gov. Ron DeSantis offered Florida’s support for Maryland after the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore on Tuesday.

DeSantis said he directed the Florida Division of Emergency Management to offer Maryland assistance, should the state need any.

“The State of Florida stands willing to help and our prayers are with the victims and first responders,” DeSantis said.

As of Tuesday morning, one person was hospitalized in a “very serious condition” while another had been rescued uninjured, CNN reported. Some are reportedly missing.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said his administration is working with the federal government and local authorities on the bridge collapse. Moore declared a state of emergency to help deploy resources.

“We are thankful for the brave men and women who are carrying out efforts to rescue those involved and pray for everyone’s safety,” Moore said.

The ship that crashed into the bridge was a container vessel on the way to Sri Lanka from the Port of Baltimore, per CNN.

The video below shows the moment early Tuesday morning when the ship crashed into the bridge, causing the entire thing to collapse into the water.
