LACONIA, N.H. (FLV) – At a 2024 campaign event in New Hampshire, Gov. Ron DeSantis grilled a reporter for asking why he “hasn’t taken any questions from voters.”

The reporter asked the question as DeSantis was speaking with voters in the crowd.

As DeSantis smiles for a photo with an event attendee, the reporter is heard interrupting, saying, “Why not take any questions from voters, governor?”

“Governor how come you’re not taking questions from voters?” the reporter followed up.

“People are coming up to me, talking to me,” the governor replied. “What are you talking about? Are you blind?”

“What?” the reporter responded.

“Are you blind?” DeSantis said. “Ok, so, people are coming up to me, talking to me, whatever they want to talk to me about.”

Supporters of former President Donald Trump capitalized on the spat, with National Pulse Editor-in-Chief Raheem Kassam calling DeSantis “thin skinned” and consultant Alex Bruesewitz calling the governor “snippy.”

The reporter in the video, Steve Peoples, is with the Associated Press.

Bryan Griffin, press secretary for DeSantis’ campaign, responded to Peoples, saying the question was asked “while @RonDeSantis was surrounded by voters in New Hampshire asking him questions and taking pictures.”

“Perfectly illustrative of the modern media shutting their eyes and ears to the truth to push their narrative,” Griffin said.

“Why won’t Ron DeSantis talk to NYC media while in New Hampshire?!?!?” DeSantis’ governor’s office press secretary Jeremy Redfern replied mockingly.

His “Great American Comeback Tour” concludes its first week on June 2 in South Carolina.

The governor then will be in Texas for 3 days from June 7-9. He will reportedly visit six cities on the fundraising tour, according to the Texas Tribune.
