TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Gov. Ron DeSantis will continue the early stages of his 2024 presidential campaign in Texas after visiting Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

His “Great American Comeback Tour” concludes its first week on June 2 in South Carolina.

The governor will be in Texas for 3 days from June 7-9. He will reportedly visit six cities on the fundraising tour, according to the Texas Tribune.

DeSantis will visit Midland on June 7, Fort Worth, Dallas and Houston on June 8 and The Woodlands and Austin on June 9.

His events are drawing some of the most “prolific” donors in Texas Republican politics, the Tribune reported, like Midland oil mogul S. Javaid Anwar along with Ernest Angelo, Kyle Stallings and Douglas Scharbauer, also “titans” of the Texas oil indsutry.

First, he will wrap up his early primary state tour, visiting New Hampshire on Thursday, June 1 and South Carolina on Friday, June 2.

He will finish his four-day, 12 city-and-town tour on June 2 in Beaufort, Lexington and Greenville.

DeSantis previously visited those early primary states, but at the time did not declare his official candidacy. Events were dubbed “Florida Blueprint,” pairing with his Feb. 28-released book, The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival.

The governor faces an uphill battle, going up against months of poll numbers showing him down upwards of 30-to-40 points to Trump in national and some state primary polls.

“We are laser-focused on taking Governor DeSantis’ forward-thinking message for restoring America to every potential voter in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina,” campaign manager Generra Peck said. “Our campaign is committed to putting in the time to win these early nominating states.  No one will work harder than Governor DeSantis to share his vision with the country — he has only begun to fight.”
