TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis selected Brock Juarez to be a deputy communications director in his gubernatorial office starting this week.

In a statement to Florida’s Voice, Juarez said DeSantis has propelled Florida into being “a beacon of sound, common sense governance.”

“I am excited to join such a great group of professionals as we work to communicate his work to improve the lives of Floridians,” Juarez said.

Juarez is joining an ever-stacked rapid response communications team employed by DeSantis, including press secretary Jeremy Redfern, communications director Bryan Griffin, digital-specialized Christina Pushaw, deputy press secretary Julia Friedland and others.

Juarez comes with over a decade of experience in the Florida state government, working in the executive office of the governor back in 2014 under Gov. Rick Scott.

From there, Juarez continued working in the executive branch, most recently under DeSantis serving as the assistant deputy secretary of Health Care Transparency and Provider Outreach – within the Agency for Health Care Administration.

From late-2022 to mid-2023, Juarez was the deputy chief of staff in AHCA, and before that, was the director of communications.
