NEW YORK – “Letter to the American Church” premiered on EpochTV Thursday detailing “striking similarities” between modern American society and brutalist regimes of the not-so-distant past, calling for Christians to “speak up” against evil.

The documentary, by New York Times best-selling author Eric Metaxas, draws comparisons between modern America “and her church” with 1930s Nazi Germany, along with the regimes of Mao Zedong in China and Joseph Stalin in the Soviet Union.

The film features Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk, Dr. James Lindsay, John Amanchukwu, David Engelhardt, Rob McCoy, Seth Gruber, Victor and Eileen Marx, and more “leading voices.”

“The parallels, with where the American church is now, to where the German church stood in the face of the Nazi regime, are unavoidable, and grim,” Metaxas says.

The film encourages the audience to “take a stand, speak out, and take action in the face of evil.”

“We are only 75-80 years removed from three separate regimes that killed 60 or 70 million people intentionally,” Kirk says.

Some topics of modern American society covered include LGBTQ’s position within some American churches and religious sects, the increasing blend of what it means to be a man or a woman, and slams the American church for remaining “silent” in the face of evil.

The film will remain part of Epoch’s library of documentaries.

Metaxas delivers a chilling clarion call to the Body of Christ to be modern day “Bonhoeffers”. If the church does not wake up from her slumber to clearly understand Marxist doctrine, the tactics that are used to manipulate her into compliance with it, the national and international leaders and corporations who are promoting it, and which direction America is headed in, we will most certainly experience the same fate of previous totalitarian regimes.

Audiences will see that silence in the face of evil is itself evil. Metaxas and his colleagues agree that this is the hour of the American church.
