TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida Sen. Blaise Ingoglia, R-Spring Hill, vowed next year to file legislation targeting individuals and organizations who send out “literature” calling on illegal aliens to vote.

He vowed “massive fines” of $10,000 for organizations who send out such literature in Florida.

Ingoglia reacted to a post by The Oversight Project, part of the Heritage Foundation, sounding the alarm on a group “encouraging illegals to vote for President Biden” this November.

The flyer was distributed by Resource Center Matamoros, which is a city in Mexico located right along the southern border with the U.S.

The group said it helps provide those awaiting their asylum hearings with legal and documentation support.

“Remember to vote for President Biden when you are in the United States,” the group said. “We need another four years of his term.”

Ingoglia said Republicans have been called “conspiracy theorists” for arguing that illegal aliens are encouraged to vote in presidential elections, namely for Democrats over Republican candidates.

“Next legislative session I’m going to file a bill that makes it a felony for the person, and massive fines ($10K each occurrence) for any organization that distributes this type of literature in Florida,” Ingoglia said.

The measure would be the latest of Florida laws that aim to target illegal aliens and/or illegal immigration in the state. Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a slate of laws with that function this year and last year.

The 2025 Legislative Session will begin next March.
