TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Florida Republicans expand their voter registration lead over Democrats to 568,051 according to July data from the Florida Department of State.

The lead marks a 26,253 voter increase from June’s GOP lead of 541,798.

Moreover, Democrats in Florida have now lost nearly 300,000 registered voters since November 2022. Republicans, by comparison, have lost around 81,000.

The latest state report on voter registration comes as Jefferson County was the latest to flip Republican in 2023.

“It’s another great day to be a Republican in the free State of Florida,” Republican Party of Florida Chairman Christian Ziegler told Florida’s Voice.

“Yesterday, 13 of Florida’s 67 counties had more Democrats than Republicans,” he continued. “Today, with Jefferson County flipping to Republican, Democrats now have just 12 counties as Republicans hold 55 counties. Big win for freedom.”

After Jefferson County’s flip, 55 of Florida’s 67 counties’ voter registrations are now lead by Republicans.

Previously, June 30 data had shown Republicans with a nearly 541,000 lead over Democrats.

The new data comes as the Florida Democratic Party launches the “Take Back Florida” statewide tour to promote voter registration efforts.

The tour will visit 18 counties in August to organize voter registration drives “to take back our state.”

Florida Democrats have been attempting to catch up to Republicans after the overwhelming masses turned out for Gov. Ron DeSantis in November 2022.

The governor was reelected by more than 19 points. Since then Democrats have lost about a quarter million voters compared to Republicans that have lost thousands.

“Kudos to the Floridians who have recognized and rejected just how radical and insane the Democrat Party has become, and great work by the Republican Party of Jefferson County Chairman Glen Bishop and his incredible team of volunteers for grinding it out on the ground for this win,” Ziegler continued.

“Now…onto the next county – Madison County!”
