Rep. Randy Fine ‘More Grateful’ for 2nd Amendment After FBI Raid of Trump’s Home

PALM BEACH (FLV) – Republican State Rep. Randy Fine said he has never been more grateful for the Second Amendment after news broke that former president Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home had been raided by the FBI.
“Never been more grateful the founders put the #2A in the Bill of Rights,” Fine said on Twitter Monday.
Fine made similar comments about the Second Amendment when he warned President Joe Biden in May against seizing Americans’ guns.
“I have news for the embarrassment that claims to be our President – try to take our guns and you’ll learn why the Second Amendment was written in the first place,” he said.
As details were still unknown after the elementary school shooting in Uvalde in May, President Joe Biden told Americans that same evening that “we have to act” and pass “commonsense” gun laws.
“The idea that an 18-year-old can walk into a gun store and buy two assault weapons is just wrong,” Biden said. “And the gun manufacturers have spent two decades aggressively marketing assault weapons which make them the most and largest profit. For God’s sake, we have to have the courage to stand up to the industry.”
Rep. Fine said his tweet was in response to the president “politicizing” the school shooting.
“They need to understand that when they make statements like we’re going to come for your guns, that’s going to upset people,” Fine said.
He said the Second Amendment was created in response to overarching government.
“My comments were related to Joe Biden going on national tv and within 60 seconds politicizing it and turning it into a fight against gun control. It was unacceptable. It was disgraceful and he should be embarrassed for it,” Fine told reporters Wednesday.
