TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis said Tuesday that U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., should be expelled from the country over her recent comments on being Somali and Muslim.

The governor reacted to Omar reportedly saying she is first and primarily Somalian, secondly Muslim, and not mentioning being American.

The video is from January.

In the video, she vows to prioritize Somalia during her time in Congress.

The comments drew ire, given members of the American government swearing an oath to the U.S. Constitution and allegiance to the U.S.
