WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Former President Donald Trump highlighted how he wants the United States to have an “Iron Dome” of defense protection, as he criticized President Joe Biden for being weak and incompetent on the issue of Hamas.

In an opinion piece on Newsweek, Trump said he would implement a “state-of-the-art missile defense shield” since Americans “deserve an Iron Dome.”

Additionally, he attacked Biden for purportedly not fully standing with Israel and providing needed aid and support.

“The barbaric and evil terrorist attacks on Israel are a horrific reminder that the world is safe when America is strong—but when we have a weak president in the White House, the costs can be greater than our worst nightmares,” Trump said.

“As we pray for the Israeli people in this hour of anguish and give them our complete and total support,” he added. “We must also confront the absolute failure of the Biden administration, whose incompetence and ignorance invited this heinous and deadly assault on civilization itself.”

He proceeded to say that the only thing Biden is good at is the weaponization of the justice system against his political opponents.

Trump has been in constant legal battles ever since he left office, legal cases brought over his involvement with Jan. 6, 2021, the taking of classified documents and other charges. He was most recently brought to Fulton County Jail where a mug shot was produced for charges on attempts to overthrow the 2020 election.

“When I left office, Iran was weak, broke, and desperate to make a deal,” Trump said. “I told other nations, including China, that if you buy oil from Iran, you can’t do business in the United States. Virtually all complied.”

“Iran knew that Biden was soft, foolish, and able to be pushed around the very moment he assumed office,” he added. “In May 2021, shortly after Biden eased sanctions, Iran’s proxy Hamas launched over 4,000 missiles at Israeli population centers.”

The former president also commented on how Biden unfroze $6 billion of Iranian money in exchange for hostages. A ransom that Trump said sets a “terrible precedent” and “puts a bounty on the heads of innocent people” all over the globe.

“When I return to the White House, I will once again stand with Israel 100 percent,” he said. “The United States will fully support Israel in defeating, dismantling, and permanently destroying the terror group Hamas.”

“Under a Trump administration, Iran will once again be weak, Israel will once again be safe, and the United States of America will be stronger and more powerful than ever before,” Trump finished.

During his time in office, Trump brokered multiple piece deals with Israel and its neighboring countries. Notably towards the end of his term, he established peace for the Jewish state with Sudan, an Arab-Muslim nation.

Gov. Ron DeSantis, Trump’s main political opponent in the 2024 Republican primary, helped nearly 300 Americans escape Israel during the regions most recent conflict with Hamas.
