MIAMI – Former President Donald Trump expressed he is “very happy” that Gov. Ron DeSantis is taking a larger role in supporting Trump’s 2024 election campaign as November approaches.

The two met in Miami over the weekend and reportedly spoke for hours.

“I am very happy to have the full and enthusiastic support of Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida,” Trump said Monday. “We had a great meeting yesterday, arranged by mutual friend Steve Witkoff, at his beautiful Shell Bay Club in Hollywood, Florida.”

“The conversation mostly concerned how we would work closely together to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” the former president said. “Also discussed was the future of Florida, which is FANTASTIC! I greatly appreciate Ron’s support in taking back our Country from the Worst President in the History of the United States. November 5th is a BIG DAY!”

DeSantis has not publicly commented on the meeting as of Tuesday.

Trump and DeSantis meet in Florida after governor pledges to help defeat Biden

Florida’s Voice independently confirmed that the meeting took place, as reported by the Washington Post.

The Post added that Trump and DeSantis spoke for “several hours,” and that the Florida governor had agreed to “help” the former president.

“The meeting was friendly,” the Post reported.

Earlier in April, DeSantis said at a private donor event that he planned to help Trump fundraise.

Democrats and Biden’s campaign have been posting strong dollar amounts as the 2024 election cycle continues.

Senior advisor to Trump’s 2024 campaign Brian Hughes told Florida’s Voice earlier this month that the campaign welcomes such support.

“We welcome all Republican leaders joining the effort to work with President Trump’s campaign and the RNC to win the White House, majorities for the US House and Senate, and Republicans all the way down the ballot,” Hughes said.
