TAMPA, Fla. – Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott announced Tuesday his endorsement of Rep. Randy Fine, R-Palm Bay, in his bid for State Senate District 19 this November.

“Randy Fine is a fearless warrior on issues that matter most to Florida families. Together, we cut taxes and reduced the government’s interference in our daily lives,” Scott said. “Florida needs Randy Fine in the Florida Senate and I am proud to join President Trump in endorsing him.”

District 19 is currently represented by Sen. Debbie Mayfield, R-Vero Beach, who is term limited. The area, holding approximately 539,000 residents, covers part of Brevard County, including Cape Canaveral and Melbourne Beach on the east coast of Central Florida.

Backed by Scott, Fine will look to get past Republican candidates Robyn Hattaway and Charles Sheridan before pivoting to November.

The winner is likely to face Democratic candidate Vance Ahrens, who is the only Democrat filed for the seat thus far.

Parts of Brevard County, District 33, is currently represented by Fine in the House. The district covers much of southern Brevard County, including Melbourne Beach and Palm Bay.

“@ScottforFlorida is a great Senator. But he is an even better man. From the first day I got elected, he has been a mentor as we tackled the issues facing Florida, including improving education, growing our economy, and protecting our environment,” Fine said. “I am so grateful to have his support. I am even more grateful he is fighting for my family in Washington.”

Fine comfortably defeated Democratic candidate Anthony Yantz by over 11 points in District 33’s general election in 2022. He was first elected to the House in 2016 and served multiple terms as a representative for District 53.

Along with Scott, Fine was endorsed by former President Donald Trump in March. He also has been endorsed by Reps. Thad Altman, R-Indialantic, Chase Tramont, R-Port Orange, and Webster Barnaby, R-Deltona.

Recently, Fine picked up another endorsement from Sen. Erin Grall, R-Fort Pierce. He also has been endorsed by Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson.

Fine has reportedly exceeded $1.5 million on hand between his state Senate campaign and his “Friends of Randy Fine” political action committee since for his bid.

“Florida State Rep. Randy Fine is a MAGA Warrior who will stand up to anyone to advance the America First agenda!” Trump said. “One of our only elected Jewish Republicans, he stands with me for an America that brings Peace through Strength, and an Economy that works for our Nation’s families.”
