YULEE (FCV) – Thursday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) announced $3.1 million to “educate and increase the number of truckers we have in Florida.”

“About 85% of Florida cities and towns receive goods only by truck, and there is currently a shortage of truck drivers across the U.S.A.” DeSantis said.

The facility receiving the grants in Nassau County will be able to support 120 graduates per year.

The United States is facing supply chain issues, partly due to transportation bottlenecks where the number of truck drivers has dwindled due to lockdown policies touted by Democrat and left-leaning officials.

DeSantis, a stark critic of President Joe Biden (D), has consistently been fighting destructive left-wing policies in Florida, like opposing mask mandates, vaccine mandates, and deterring illegal immigration.
