DeSantis job approval nears all-time high
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (FLV) – Gov. Ron DeSantis’ approval rating in Florida has nearly eclipsed his all-time high since becoming governor in 2019, according to a new poll released by Mason-Dixon as obtained by POLITICO.
The poll found that DeSantis has a job approval rating of 59% for March 2023 with a 39% disapproval. 2% were unsure.
In comparison, the same poll from March 2019 – four years ago – found DeSantis had a 62% approval rating.
Mason-Dixon also asked respondents about the 2024 GOP primary, where DeSantis was found to have a lead over former President Donald Trump, 44%-39%.
President Joe Biden was found to have just a 35% approval rating, 5% lower than his rating in February 2022.
For favorability ratings among the three, DeSantis has the highest at 53%, then Trump at 39% and Biden at 33%.
It was conducted from March 27-30 among 625 Florida registered voters.
On 2024, DeSantis has said he will consider a “national” political decision once the Florida Legislature wraps up its session in May.
