Activist slam severely ill Sen. Garcia for not being in district office

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FLV) – Thomas Kennedy, a Democrat activist, made baseless attacks against Sen. Ileana Garcia, R-Miami, following a recent vote on an immigration bill.

A group held a protest against against an anti-illegal immigration bill. The proposal has been called by Republicans “strongest, state-led anti-illegal immigrant” reform put forth.

Kennedy rallied people to protest at her district office, criticizing Garcia for no one answering the door.

“Sad that neither her or her staff couldn’t bother to be at their office during business hours to respond to our concerns,” Kennedy said.

“These are your tax dollars at work.”

However, the group did not include the full context. Garcia said the district office is closed while in session in Tallahassee, but the office is available via phone and email.

Garcia sent a press release explaining why she supported the immigration bill following the protests. Kennedy then falsely claimed she “has to hide behind” the press release.

In reality, Garcia said she is home very sick after being hospitalized twice.

“I don’t bother to respond because he is a toxic professional agitator,” Garcia said. “My policies and appropriations back to the district over 100 million speaks for itself.”

Garcia’s press release listed out several reforms designed to stop the use of illegal identification cards and “guard against” human trafficking.

“Senator Ingoglia’s legislation is designed to prevent the use of illegal identification cards in Florida to prevent human trafficking and put a stop to the abuses by unscrupulous individuals who take advantage of the most vulnerable.  It’s amazing to what lengths the extreme left and open border activists will go to lie, hoping to instill fear to advance their partisan agenda,” Garcia said in the press release.
